A Riichi Mahjong tournament at the heart of the university city
The Louvain-la-Neuve Mahjong Club is proud to present its second Riichi Mahjong tournament: Supernova Winter Edition 2026!
The tournament will be held on the 12th and 13th of December 2026 and will consist of 8 hanchans over the two days (4 each). The games are played according to the EMA Riichi Competition Rules from 2025. The tournament is pending MERS approval.
The tournament can host a maximum of 40 players. Registrations beyond that will be placed on a waiting list and invited in case of cancellations into the main list.

Payment
The regular registration fee is 60 €. Contributing members of the Louvain-la-Neuve Mahjong Club benefit from a reduced fee of 55 €. These fees are payable in advance, at the latest on the 28th of November 2026 and include snacks and drinks throughout the tournament, as well as a meal on both days’ lunch break.

Cancellation
You may cancel your participation without any costs up to the 28th of Novembre 2026 via the online contact form on our website. Your participation fees will be refunded in this case. Should you cancel beyond this date, you will not be elligible for a refund of the participation fees.

Access by public transport
Louvain-la-Neuve is highly accessible by bus or by train. Both the bus and train terminals are only a short walk away from the tournament venue.
By Train
The train station is located 500m from the venue, only 7-8 minutes by foot. Louvain-la-Neuve is a direct connection from Ottignies station, one of the most important railway hubs in the region.

By Bus
The main bus station is 800m away from the venue, around 12 minutes by foot. There are around 20 different buses connecting Louvain-la-Neuve to surrounding cities. Please refer to the TEC website for schedules, routes and pricing:

Access by car
Please note that the majority of Louvain-la-Neuve’s center is pedestrian only with no access to unauthorized vehicles. Free parking is available along the streets in the neighborhood, and there are several free parking options with no time limits during the weekend at a short walking distance, the closest being:
- Parking du Pont-Neuf – 3min (250m) – Only the first two rows, the next are for UCLouvain card holders.
- Parking Place Polyvalente (Ferme du Biérau) – 5min (350m)
- Parking Malin Rédimé – 8min (600m)
- Parking Malin Baudouin – 10min (750m)
- Parking Malin Bois de Lauzelle – 20min (1.4km)

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded according to player ranking:
- Trophees for the first 3 places
- Belgium Championship trophy for the highest-ranking Belgian player
Other rewards can be awarded based on other criteria.

Personal information provided during registration (name, phone number, e-mail address) will only be used for communication regarding the tournament. These informations will not be shared with third parties or used for other purposes.
By participating in the tournament, you authorize the Louvain-la-Neuve Mahjong Club to record videos or pictures during the event, and consent to the use of these videos or pictures on the website and official social network accounts of the Louvain-la-Neuve Mahjong Club.
